PRESIDENT RELEASES CONFISCATED TOP-SECRET IRAQI DOCUMENTS JUSTIFYING THE IMMEDIATE TOPPLING OF SADDAM HUSSEIN
Remarks by the President
THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon. Yesterday, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein attempted to thwart my plans to invade
and permanently occupy the Middle East by announcing that his government would readmit UN weapons inspectors - no
questions asked. Today, I want the citizens of the world to know that Mr. Hussein is lying, that he is a
grievous and immediate threat to American security, and that I have the proof.
Last week, US Special Forces soldiers in eastern Iraq infiltrated Saddam Hussein's palace, and recovered many
chilling and top-secret documents from his home office. While hundreds of these papers provide ample evidence
to launch our crusade promptly, three in particular - written in Saddam's own hand - demand immediate and most
probably nukular retaliation.
And so, by authority of Executive Order 13273-B, I do hereby declassify these documents so that the American
people can arrive at the same conclusion that I have. Thank you. No questions, please.
